Since its release on May 16, 2012, the album has received many glowing comments:
“The latest to my ears is Heather Green. She’s just released the disc Your Last War, a great addition to the pop-songwriter scene out of Halifax. Great tunes, cool lyrics, nifty production.” – Bob Mersereau (CBC)
“…the sound and vibe of the production and songwriting of this creation, are truly exciting and worthy of extreme celebration.” – Jenn Grant (musician)
“Her new album, recorded with the amazing Daniel Ledwell, “Your Last War” is Heather at her best. It is a true album and both a sonic and heartbreaking journey. Songs like “Playgrounds and Minefields”, “Sweet Little Something” and “Close Call” are as good as anything out there by anyone. If this new album was marketed properly, there is no reason why it wouldn’t be a huge seller along side with Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan and Patricia Ahn. “ – Michael Bizar (Multi-Instrumentalist, Composer for TV/Film, Los Angeles)
“There aren’t many albums as perfect as @_heathergreen’s Your Last War.” – tweet from Jen Ochej (Jen from Twitter)
“Heather’s strong songwriting, vocal performances, and willingness to take bold directions musically will set her apart from her peers. These songs deserve global recognition.” – Daniel Ledwell (musician/producer)
I agree with all of the comments above. So, what can I add that hasn’t already been said? Not much really.
Your Last War is an exceptional album. Like Jenn Grant’s A Beautiful Wild and Rose Cousins We Have Made A Spark; Your Last War is an album that I find myself wanting to play over and over and over again. Since recently getting a copy, I have been listening to it on the bus, in the office, in the car, and at home. It is the kind of album that you can listen to alone or with your family.
Heather Green had a pledge music campaign for Your Last War a year ago. Although the campaign is over and the album released, this video gives you a preview of the great songs on the album.
