Promoting their 2012 debut release, Alone In The Marquee, Halifax – based folk/rock band, Steady Hills will take the stage along with Montreal-based folk band, Wind-Up Radio Sessions at The Company House in Halifax, Tuesday, July 9 at 8:30pm.
Steady Hills is made up of Chad Harrington and Andrew Dahms. In their first year togehter, Steady Hills have undertaken two eastern Canadian tours, released a self-produced EP, Alone In The Marquee, played an ECMA showcase, and received positive blog reviews from as far as the UK.
Here’s what some people are saying:
“The sound itself is phenomenal. Chad Harrington’s vocals are like a Jim James revival, the crashing drums and penchant chords produce a rhythm of sound involvement from all.” -Music Under Fire (Philadelphia Music blog)
“The album itself is rather haunting thanks in part to the recording process and Harrington’s vocals which at times bear striking resemblance to the UK’s White Lies” -Halifax (Halifax Music blog)
On July 9th, they play with Wind-Up Radio Sessions – a Montreal- based group that write and perform a folk-rooted variety of songs, featuring charming arrangements and intimate lyrics. Members Matt Lazenby, Marc Kiely, Dan Kiely and Dave Crosbie recently recorded a six song EP titled Yeti Sounds
