Brianne’s older brother is in in the same grade (and school) as my 7 year old son. When I read the letter below, I felt I needed to do something. As readers of this blog know, I do not solicit or ask for anything. I promote music. That’s it. However, if you have anything you are able to donate to this fundraiser, please either contact me or Jan (email@example.com). Also, if you are free on October 5th, please come out and show your support!!!

Brianne Kahlke is 3 years old and like most three year old girls, she lives for pretty dresses, princesses, ponies, painting her fingernails, riding her bike, playing with her friends and her big brother. Brianne also lives with cancer. Four months ago, she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a very rare and aggressive childhood cancer. I am writing on behalf of a very special little girl and her family to request a donation for an upcoming auction fundraiser we are planning in support of the Kahkle family.
Each year, approximately 50 – 75 Canadian children are diagnosed with neuroblastoma and Brianne is one of them. Since her diagnosis just four months ago, Brianne has undergone six rounds of chemotherapy, countless tests and procedures and major surgery. We are lucky enough to live in a country where we don’t have to worry about the majority of medical care expenses but there are so many additional costs involved for a family with a child battling cancer. We are planning this fundraising auction for the Kahlke Family to help with these expenses – the feeding tubes and machinery Brianne uses everyday, airfare and accommodations at the Ronald McDonald House where the family will stay during an upcoming 8 week stay for treatment at a Calgary hospital are just a few examples of expenses we are hoping to help the family with.
The auction will take place at Freeman’s on Dutch Village Road on Saturday October 5, 2013 at 6pm. We are looking for goods, services, gift cards and any other items your business would like to donate for this fundraiser for Brianne and her family. Please contact Jan Gentile-Nugent at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 877-2346 to arrange for your donation by September 28, 2013. Any and all donations will be accepted and are greatly appreciated.
No family should ever have to face the battle the Kahlke family is facing and while we can’t change this terrible situation, we can help to make it a little more manageable by showing them how much we care.
Please become one of Brianne’s Fans and join us in supporting the Kahlke Family.
