There is a lot of great live music in Halifax this weekend. One sure thing is the show at Michael’s Bar & Grill featuring The Wax, This Ship, Ragged Mane and Dave Fultz.
The Wax is a rock/electronic band from Halifax, Nova Scotia formed in 2012 by Phyl La Ferriere. The Wax is LaFerriere (Vocals/Guitar), James Spray (Keyboard/Songwriting), Doug Scurfield (Drums) and Peter Janes (Bass). These guys put on a electric live show. Check out my review of their album Waiting Room.
Another fun live act, This Ship consists of Bethany Fulde (vocals/guitar), Justin MacPherson Wiles (vocals/keyboard/keytar), Jordan Stephens (vocals/bass) and Adam Martin(vocals/drums). They are playing a lot these days gearing up for the release of a new EP. Read my review of their debut EP, All The Stars & Elements.
Ragged Mane is a five piece folk/rock band based in Antigonish featuring Matt Howard (Lead Vocals, Acoustic Guitar), Justin Layes (Rhythm Guitar, Piano), Zack Pettipas (Bass, Mandolin), Jonathan Deyoung (Percussion) and John Stephenson (Lead Guitar, Violin). They recently released Five Nights. Check it out on their Bandcamp page.
Dave Fultz is from Halifax and plays pretty much any musical instrument he can get his hands on. He has a few songs recorded. Head over to his Bandcamp page to check him out.
