HPX ’13 featured artist: Jess Reimer

Jess Reimer is a  known as a “rootsy songstress from the wilds of Manitoba”.  She spent the last year collaborating closely with Bob Wiseman (Blue Rodeo) to create her sophomore record, The Nightjar And The Garden, which features contributions from Ron Sexsmith and Keri Latimer.

Reimer’s output to-date has earned acclaim from outlets like Penguin Eggs; official showcase slots at the Folk Alliance International Convention and OCFF; shared bills with the likes of The Good Brothers, Loudon Wainwright III, Peter Rowan, Hayes Carl, and Tony Rice; and appearances in front of audiences at the Stan Rogers Folk Festival, Ottawa Folk Festival, and Winnipeg Folk Festival.

Reimer will be performing four shows during Halifax Pop Explosion:

Oct 23 @ Dalhousie University Student Union Building (6136 University Ave.) – 12:45pm (The AB Club)
Oct 25 @ CD Heaven (118 Wyse Rd) – 1:00pm (AB Goes To Heaven)
Oct. 26 @ Rockbottom Brewpub – 1:15 (AB Mid-Day Soiree) – see poster below
Oct. 26 @ Bus Stop Theatre (2203 Gottingen St)- 10pm (*PledgeMusic Showcase w/ Willie Stratton & The Boarding Party, Nuela Charles and North Lakes)
