The Trews return to Atlantic Canada from Nov. 7th through Nov. 19th, performing a string of unplugged acoustic shows and if you’ve never seen this side of the band before, make sure you get a ticket early.  These shows are bound to sell-out.

The Trews are one of Canada’s premiere rock and roll bands and have supported the likes of The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Robert Plant, and KISS.  Their live shows are second-to-none and they are one of the few bands that I take in every time they are in town.  One of my all-time favourite concert memories is a mid-song standing ovation given during “Highway of Heroes” at the Rebecca Cohn in Halifax.  See the photo below (I’m in the aisle on the left).  I’m not sure there was a dry eye in the house when this photo was taken.

The Trews unplugged shows are a special treat for old and new fans alike and have been hugely successful, as witnessed by their  live acoustic CD/DVD Friends & Total Strangers being nominated for a JUNO Award while the single “Sing Your Heart Out” earned the band an International Acoustic Music Award in the AAA/Alternative category.

The Trews have been featured a number of times in The Halifax Musicphile blog, including an October 2012 post “Top 10 Trews Songs, just prior to their most recent EP …Thank You and I’m Sorry.  They have four full-length studio albums (two certified Gold in Canada) and 13 Top 10 Canadian singles and have been called “without a doubt, the greatest rock band of their generation” by Performer Magazine.
