Two acclaimed Newfoundland musicians, Duane Andrews and Craig Young, have teamed up to release their debut album, Charlie’s Boogie, and are now heading out on tour.
You may know Duane Andrews from his collaborations with Dwayne Cote or through his solo material. Andrews has won awards from the USA Songwriting Competition, the Independent Music Awards, the ECMA and MusicNL. Andrews has also performed at the Montreal and Cork Jazz and Newport and Mariposa Folk festivals.
Craig Young has won the Canadian Country Music Association All Star Band Award four times in the guitarist category and has several Top 40 singles to his writing credit. He has also spent 10 years touring the world based out of Nashville as a member of Terri Clark’s band and playing with superstars such as Ricky Skaggs in his downtime.
Charlie’s Boogie will take you from the traditional music of Newfoundland and Labrador, down through the Appalachian Mountains into the land of bluegrass and country music and across the ocean to French cabarets filled with gypsy and swing music.
