Teresa Doyle is a musical “jack of all trades”. She can do pretty much anything. On Doyle’s website, it states that she is a “vocal explorer with a lifelong passion for pushing the boundaries of her voice”. It also states that Doyle’s “… exploration has taken her around the world singing with Kenyan farm women, a Japanese lute player, Tibetan overtone singers, Soca musicians from Tobago, improvisers in New York, South Indian yogis, traditional Gaelic singers from Ireland, and folk musicians from the Yukon Territory to the Blue Ridge Mountains.”. Doyle’s musical ability and diversity was on full display during Harmony Bazaar 2015.
In addition to having the opportunity to see Doyle perform on the main stage on Friday, I had the good fortune to sit in on her Children Sing Workshop on Saturday as my two children took part. Eight children attended the Children Sing Workshop on Saturday (five were able to perform with Doyle on Sunday). At the Workshop, Doyle taught the children four songs. Doyle’s teaching style was welcoming and all-encompasing. The children had a wonderful time.
Sunday’s performance by Teresa Doyle and the Children Sing Workshop was marvellous.
